Description of Subjects/Issues |
The Teacher Grants for Computer Science Education Program, sections 22-97-102 and 22-97-103,
C.R.S., requires the State Board of Education to promulgate rules to implement and administer the
program. At a minimum, the rules must include: the application process, including requirements; and
deadlines; criteria for the award of grants, including award priorities; the amount and duration of the grants; and the approved uses of the grant. |
Purpose/Objective of Rule |
Senate Bill 17-296 created the Teacher Grants for Computer Science Education Program
through which school districts are eligible to receive grants from the Department to provide direct training or funding for teachers to pursue courses, certificates, or degrees in the field of computer science education. This rulemaking process will make changes to the grant program rules to permit grantees to request funding greater than $10,000 threshold originally established in rule. |
