Colorado Housing and Financing Authority (CHFA) Liens

Q1. What is a CHFA lien and where can I find more information?

A1.  A CHFA lien is a mortgage obtained through and with the assistance of the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority that is secured by residential or business real estate. For more information on CHFA liens, see the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority Act, sections 29-4-701 through 29-4-735 of the Colorado Revised Statutes. Visit the CHFA website.

 

Q2. Who may file a CHFA lien?

A2.  The Colorado Housing and Finance Authority board is the only entity with authority to file a CHFA lien with the Secretary of State.
